What Is The Spiritual Significance Of Easter?
The spiritual significance of Easter is the rebirth of Jesus i.e. resurrection.
Resurrection is actually the rising of Christ from the dead or the rising of the dead at the Last Judgement. Jesus was crucified on Friday i.e. known as Good Friday and was risen on Sunday i.e. known as Easter. The crucifixion of Jesus occurred in 1st century, around 30 to 33 AD.Jesus Christ was arrested, trilled, and was given convict by Pontius Pilate to be punished, and finally crucified by the Romans. Jesus was stripped of his clothing and offered wine mixed with gall to drink, before being crucified. He was hung between the two convicted thieves. The soldiers fixed a sign to the top of the cross that stated ‘Jesus Of Nazareth, King Of The Jews’. Then they divided his garments among themselves. The Bible describes
Seven statements that ‘Jesus’ made on the cross. The Seven statements were:-
- ‘Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing’.
- ‘I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise’.
- ‘Dear woman, here is your son’.
- ‘My God, my god, why have you abandoned me’?
- ‘I am thirsty’.
- ‘It is finished!’
- ‘Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands’!
